Review: Wood Spoon – Downtown Los Angeles

The food was great. I suggest starting with the mix plate appetizer. Which has Coxinha, Potato Croquette, Portuguese Croquette, Pastel Portuguese & Kibe. This gives you the opportunity to try all of the their appetizers. My favorite was the Potato Croquette. As an entree I had the bacon wrapped chicken. It was very tasty, the chicken was moist, and had good texture. The bacon was on the thin side but was a perfect pairing, as not to over flavor the chicken. They serve the dish with rice, beans, plantains, collard greens, salsa & farofa (dried onion and egg, powder, We had to ask). Their salsa was probably the most unique thing I ate it was chucky, with tomatoes, onion, jalapeno and bell pepper. I used it to flavor the rice and black beans. Will definitely go back. The restaurant is small, maybe 20 2 tops. Good for small groups and couples. The restaurant is a bit noisey once everyone starts talking. -NB
